On Friday, January 28th the Clairlea Girls Empowerment Group held a conference for other girls groups from eight different schools across the city. Over 140 students attended the conference and participated in workshops in three areas: Your rights, Your body, Your creative self. Workshop topics included the representation of girls and women in the media, body image, self- defense, healthy relationships, exploring notions of power through drama and hip hop as a form of self- expression. Thanks to everyone who helped make the conference a success!
