The TDSB was honoured to receive the Mixed Company Theatre's Shooting Star Award in November, recognizing our commitment to the power of theatre as a way to promote equity and social justice. The award was accepted by Christine Jackson, program coordinator of the arts, on behalf of Director of Education Chris Spence. The relationship between Mixed Company and the TDSB began 20 years ago with Bad Apples, a Forum Theatre play addressing the streaming of students, a relevant educational issue at the time. Since then, Mixed Company has teamed up with TDSB to bring a number of pieces into schools.

- Ms. Park has been teaching at Clairlea since 2007. Ms. Park has been teaching drama and working in theatre for 15 years. She has a degree in Drama in Education and a Graduate Degree from OISE/UT. Ms. Park thinks the students at Clairlea are very dramatic and lots of fun to work with!
